The Purpose of Forgiveness

The purpose of forgiveness is to release your soul from bitterness in order for you to experience freedom and to restore the grace of God back in your life. Forgiving someone who has wronged you doesn’t mean you accept what they did, it simply means you have made the conscious decision not to allow the hurt and disappointment the individual caused to disrupt your inner peace. Forgiveness is an act of kindness and love, and when you don’t forgive, you allow wounds to remain open. Forgiveness heals all wounds, and restores balance back in your life, so if someone has caused pain and suffering in your life from a deceitful act, make the choice today to release and relinquish your burdens to God so that you may also be forgiven of your wrong doings in order to live a life of joy and peace.

Forgiveness is the remedy. It doesn’t mean you’re erasing the past, or forgetting what happened. It means you’re letting go of the resentment and pain, and instead choosing to learn from the incident and move on with your life. Remember, the less time you spend hating the people who hurt you, the more time you’ll have to love the people who love you.”
